Things to do

Budapest

Castle Hill- Castle Hill is one of the most outstanding Budapest attractions. It is a Unesco World Heritage site. Here you can find some of the most popular city attractions: Buda Castle Palace, Mátyás Church, and the Fishermen’s Bastion, among others. Castle Hill is such a charming place, here you will find picturesque cobbled streets, townhouses, galleries, museums, cosy restaurants and historic monuments.
Buda Castle- Buda Castle is the result of many palaces built and destroyed over the centuries, after numerous invasions and attacks on the Hungarian nation. It was built by King Béla IV in the 13th century, enlarged in a Gothic style by King Zsigmond of Luxemburg and expanded upon with a Renaissance flair by King Mátyás (1443-1490).

Matthias Church- Matthias Church (Mátyás Templom) was built in the mid-13th century, during the reign of King Béla IV, but was frequently restored, repaired, and remodeled on Gothic, Baroque and Neo Baroque styles, due to damage caused by the numerous invasions and attacks. However, the church is basically a Neo-Gothic creation designed by the architect Frigyes Schulek in 1873-1896.
Chain Bridge Budapest (Lánc Híd) - Chain Bridge (Lánc Híd) is the oldest and most beautiful bridge of the eight that connect Buda and Pest. This Budapest attraction and together with the Buda Castle, offers at night a stunning view when fully lit up. This is a wonderful fairytale scene – truly not to be missed.

Gellert Hill and Surroundings - Hill; it rises 235 metres above the Danube and offers some of the best panoramic views of the city. This is my favourite Budapest lookout – the hill is high enough to make you feel you have the river and city at your feet. You can view beautiful scenes of southern Buda, the whole of Pest and see Buda Castle from another angle.
The Hungarian Parliament, Budapest Opera House, Heroes Square Budapest, Budapest Basilica, Danube Promenade, Budapest City Park - Városliget, Great Market Hall - Nagyvasárcsarnok, Budapest Holocaust Memorial Centre

Prague

1. Potter Around Petrin

Over to the east of the city, the Mala Strana district of Prague boasts a number of stunning outdoor spaces. The lovely wooded area of Petrin, however, has the best views of the city.

2. Wenceslas Square

The spiritual heart of the Nove Mesto is really more of a broad avenue than a square - but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. It was also the focal point of the ‘Velvet Revolution’, as the country rose up to shrug off communism in 1989.

3. Seek out the Six Synagogues

The ‘Jewish Museum’, as it’s known, is a collection of fascinating sights in the former Jewish ghetto of Josefov. An all-inclusive ticket is helpful, but it doesn’t make them any easier to find in the maze of streets and narrow alleyways…

4. The Christmas Markets

The city is never more beautiful than when, lit up like a Christmas tree, the markets come to town. All manner of goods, artisans’ wares and foodstuffs can be bought, but it’s the festive atmosphere that really makes it stand out.

5. Polish off a Few Pilsners in a 'Pivnice'

Have a few beers in a bar, that is! Czech beer is legendary, and Prague nightlife is defined by atmospheric little bars that are crying out to be explored.
