Thailand tourism Places

The diverse, spiritual and golden land of Thailand is Asia’s most popular tourist goal. Its reputation for pleasure-seeking attracts thousands of backpacker’s and its outstanding areas of natural beauty and idyllic beaches attract an increasing amount of holiday-makers. It’s a country rich with culture, history, smiling locals and some interesting quirks. With so many tourist attractions on offer, how does a first timer to this far-flung land know where to start? Here is my personal Top Ten list of places to visit in Thailand.

Thailand has been one of the world's most visited tourist destinations for the last thirty years. Every year, millions of tourists come to Thailand to see Thailand's famous temples, beaches, and mountains. They eat Thai food, ride elephants, climb mountains, visit hill tribe villages and even meet Thai girls. If you're a tourist planning on coming to Thailand though, which are the top five best places to visit in Thailand and why? #5 -Koh Samui - One of Thailand's most famous islands, Koh Samui ('Koh' means island in Thai) is heaven for tourists. White sandy beaches, amazing diving, some of the world's best coral reefs, and clear blue water make it a sea and sun worshipers paradise and, for those who like nightlife, the famous Full Moon Party held every month is a must do. The island is also full of tropical forests, exotic birds and wildlife and natural beauty incomparable anywhere else. Koh Samui is one of the top five best places to visit in Thailand for its unbelievable beauty and also for some of the world's best diving.

Bangkok is a pulsing, exciting and often chaotic metropolis and a necessary part of a trip to Thailand. Although not everyone’s cup of tea, this stink soaked, and noisy city has some unbelievable places of interest that you would be foolish to bypass. The delicately bejewelled Grand Palace should not be missed and if you have time also try to visit the beautiful Wat Phra Kaeo and Wat Po where a huge golden reclining Buddha resides. The more daring head for the well-known backpacker’s paradise Khao San Road, Chinatown’s alleyways and bazaars and the Patpong Night Market.

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a metropolis where one can find both old and new, East and West, traditional and fashionable, blended together in a harmonious way. Samut Prakan (29 km) has countless tourist attractions such as historical sites, old markets and indigenous lifestyles along the canals. The largest crocodile farm in the world is situated here. Samut Songkhram (63 km) highlights King Rama II Memorial Park and Amphawa Floating Market. Those who love to experience the local lifestyles have many choices of homestay programmes to choose from. The old capital from 1350 to 1767, Ayutthaya (76 km from Bangkok), is today visited chiefly as a historical site, especially the World Heritage Historic City of Ayutthaya and associated Historic Towns. Bang Pa-in Palace, and Bang Sai Folk Arts and Crafts Centre are places recommended for inclusion in a one-day tour.

Situated to the west of Pattaya, Larn island offers the tourists with beautiful sandy beaches, clear water, breathtaking landscape and stunning sunset. It is only 7.5 km and 45 minute ferry or 15 minutes by speedboat. The island is 4 km in length and 2 km in width or 3,500 rai. 90% of the area is mountain with a variety of trees. There are approximately a thousand of residents living in the main village. There are also school and small medical facility on the island. There is also a profusion of marine life under the water. There is glass bottom boat service where ones can view the scenic underwater life without getting wet. Big boats are not allowed to anchor near the beach as the corals are protected.

One of the popular beaches is Ta Waen Beach in the northern part of the island has a 750 m stretch of the white sand. There are also shops and food stalls along the beach. In the south western side of the island, Thian Beach stretches 700 m long and Samae Beach is 100 m long. Thian Beach is exceptionally clean and quiet. There are a few restaurants on this beach. Activity on Koh Larn: There is no need to worry that you will get bored on this island. There is a plenty of activities to enjoy include parasailing, jet ski, hiking, shooting, banana boat, fishing from pier or boat. There are also interesting activities underwater including snorkeling, scuba diving, diving in water-proof suit or take a tour in semi-submersible submarine.
