Overview

DAY 01: Guwahati - Shillong (03 hrs)
Our tour manager will welcome you at Guwahati Airport. After your arrival we will drive to Shillong-"The Scotland of the East". the capital of the state of Meghalaya. Reaching Shillong after a drive of approximately 3 hours, we check in at hotel Yalana or similar, freshen up & after a light meal we go out for sight seeing.

DAY 02: Shillong - Cherrapunjee (90 minutes) - Barapani (02 hrs)
Early in the morning, we will take you to Cherrapunjee, famed for being the wettest place in the world. After a drive of two hours amid pine trees and mists we reach Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls.

DAY 03: Barapani - Kaziranga (06 hrs)
First half at leisure by the side of the lake. After lunch, we take a 6 hour drive to Kaziranga National Park, the home of the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros. Other residents of the park include elephants, Indian bison, four species of deer, tiger, leopard, capped langur, wild boar, hoolock gibbon etc and a host of both resident and migratory birds. We check in at Bonhabi Resort or Government Tourist Lodges.

DAY 04: Kaziranga
We start our Jungle Safari on elephant back early in the morning in the central range of the park, for one hour. Afterwards, back to hotel and breakfast. After breakfast we take you deep inside the central range of the park in a jeep. Then, we come back for lunch and rest for two hours. Again in the afternoon ,we take up another jeep safari this time covering the western range of the park.

DAY 05: Kaziranga
Early in the morning ,we go for a jeep safari in the eastern range of the park, famous for the Pelican colony. We come back for lunch and rest for two hours. In the afternoon, it's time for tea garden visits and a visit to an Assamese village.

DAY 06: Kaziranga - Guwahati (04 hrs)
In the morning we leave Kaziranga for Guwahati, the capital of Assam. We check in at hotel President or similar and take lunch. Afterwards we go for sight seeing at Guwahati.

DAY 07: Guwahati
After breakfast we proceed to the airport for your departure flight & the tour comes to an end.

Guwahati  formerly known as Pragjyotishpura (প্ৰাগ্জ্যোতিষপুৰ) and Durjaya (দুৰ্জয) in ancient Assam (Kamrup) and Gauhati in the modern era — is an ancient urban area and largest city of Assam and northeastern India. It is one of the fastest developing cities in India and is a major city in Eastern India and often referred as "gateway" of North Eastern Region of the country.Guwahati, formerly Prāgjyotishpura meaning "city of eastern light", "city of eastern astrology",[6][citation needed] and Durjaya meaning "impregnable" were the capitals of the ancient state of Kamarupa under Varman's and Pala's respectively.

Shillong  is the capital of Meghalaya, one of the smallest states in India and home to the Khasis. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet (1,496 m) above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet (1,966 m). Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according to the 2011 census.[2] It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Hence, Shillong is known as "Scotland of the East."

Cherrapunjee:

Cherrapunji  About this sound second pronunciation (help·info); currently the historical name Sohra is more commonly used; alternative spellings are Cherrapunjee and Charrapunji), is a subdivisional town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is credited as being the second wettest place on Earth. However, nearby Mawsynram currently holds that record. Though, it still holds the world record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year. It received 9,300 mm (366 in) in July 1861 and 26,461 mm (1,041.75 in) between 1 August 1860 and 31 July 1861

Kaziranga National Park, Kazirônga Rastriyô Uddan, pronounced [kazirɔŋɡa rastrijɔ udːan] ( listen)) is a national park in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam, India. A World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceroses.[1] Kaziranga boasts the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer.
