Excursion from Interlaken up to the Jungfraujoch– Top of Europe. The Jungfrau Railways, which will celebrate their 100-year Jubilee in 2012, takes you via Kleine Scheidegg, on foot of the famous Eiger Nordwall, to the Jungfraujoch – 3454m/11’333 ft the highest railway stationin Europe. Breath-taking views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps. Don’t miss the Snow Fun Park and the Ice Palace. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 3 : DAY 3 - LUCERNE

Rail trip by Brünig Express from Interlaken to Lucerne (panoramic seats in 1st class only) Overnight in Lucerne.

Excursion to Mount Titlis – at 3020 m /10’000 ft. From Lucerne the train takes you to the mountain monestry village Engelberg where you board a gondola which takes you up to the Trübsee. You continue your trip by another gondola to Stand and finally the first revolving Titlis Rotair cablecar takes you up to Mount Titlis. For a spectacular, close-up insight into a glacier, visit the glacier cave and ride the Ice Flyer chairlift. Overnight in Lucerne.

INTERLAKEN and LUCERNE visting places:

My husband and I just returned from Lucerne. We stayed 9 nights in the Hotel Des Alpes on beautiful lake Lucerne overlooking the Chapel Bridge. The hotel was inexpensive, our room had a tiny balcony(cozy and perfect for romance) which looked out over the river, alps, chapel bridge- magnificant sunrises over the alps etc. The location of this hotel was perfect-in old town, no cars-only foot traffic over cobblestoned streets. I would go back tomorrow, but would insist on a room on the river with a balcony.The staff was helpful, though if you're looking for luxury-don't stay here.

The room was clean and recently updated, shower was too small for 2! THis was fine for us, we could not see another hotel in the area that offered the view with balcony for anywhere near the price we paid (130CF/night). The buffet breakfast was great-cold items only. We feasted on fresh croissants,cheese, asst meats, cereal,fruit,yogurt, juices and coffee daily. We visited Interlaken but did not stay there- perhaps you would consider staying on Burgenstock mountain in one of the beautiful hotels there (3), I believe that would be perfect for a honeymoon! good luck-any questions- I would be happy to answer if I c
