Sri Lanka, also called ‘The Pearl of the Orient’, is an island nation, part of the Indian Sub-continent. Surrounded by the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is a renowned tourist destination, home to as many as seven world heritage sites, and a beautiful landscape.
 
The capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo, is a coastal city known for its pristine beaches and modern lifestyle. Colombo offers a host of tourist attractions including museums, water sports, the two world trade center towers, churches and festivals. 
 
Bentota is a town in Sri Lanka,located on the southern tip of the Galle District of the Southern Province, about 7–8 kilometres (4.3–5.0 mi) south of Beruwala on the A2 highway. Its population is estimated to be between 25,000-50,000. The name comes from a mythical story which dates back to kings time saying a demon called Bem ruled this river (tota = river bank).
 
The Ancient City of Sigiriya is one of the seven UNESCO World Heritage sites in Sri Lanka. Predominantly known for its architecture and ancient paintings, Sigiriya is a tourist destination due to its gardens, reservoirs and magnificent architecture. The most famous tourist attraction in the city is the Lion Rock citadel, a flamboyant 200m high solitary rock which holds historical significance.
 
Kandy, known for its religious significance, is one of the most important places for Sri Lanka’a Buddhist community all around the world. Located in the Central Province, Kandy is another World Heritage site due to its scenic beauty.
