About Manali

One of the most beautiful adventure destinations of India, Manali is basically a small town in the Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh. Termed sometimes as the cradle between the lesser Himalayas, Manali is extremely popular with the tourists for its lavish display of un-spoilt natural beauty. Rich in its scenic splendor, Manali draws a good number of tourists from within the country and abroad every year.

The patches of green surround the town as it has an ascending elevation towards the Himalayas from its southwestern end. Though irregular in formation, the entire valley gives probably the best scenic view in the country.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi - Manali (570 kms)
Arrive in Delhi by Air or Train. After reaching Delhi go to bus stand (PICK UP from ISBT) in the evening. Travel overnight by Volvo bus from Delhi to Manali.AND REACH MANALI NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING.

Day 02: Manali Local Sight Seeing
HOTEL CHECK-IN TIME 1200 HOURS (PRE CHECK-IN SUBJECT TO ROOM AVAILABILITY)
On arrival in Manali check into the hotel. Afternoon half day city tour visiting Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht Village and Tibetan Monastery. Evening free to explore the shopping mall of Manali. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03: Rohtang Pass Up To Snow Line
After Breakfast drive to Rohtang Pass.Today full day excursion visiting Kothi Village, Gulaba, Marhi, Rohtang Pass (Upto Snow Line in case Rohtang is closed due to snow fall), enjoy the snow full day or skiing (at your own cost). Dinner & overnight Stay at hotel.

Day 04: Manali – Free for leisure
After breakfast in the morning, explore the town on your own. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05: Manali - Delhi (570 kms)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel & enjoy the shopping in local market. In evening travel by AC Volvo from Manali to Delhi (full night journey)

Places to Visit in Manali

• Hadimba Devi Hadimba or Dhungiri Devi temple in Manali is one of the famous and most important temple in the Manali. It is situated in the mid of the forest called the Dhungiri Van Vihar. Hadimba temple is dedicated to the goddess-tutned-demoness Hadimba, wife of Bhima. It is tod that Bhima fell in love with her and killed her sister in order to marry Hadimba.
• Vashishtha baths Due to the medicinal power Vashishtha baths is very famous place among the people and so large number of people come here for a bath as water of the spring is supposed to cure several diseases.
• Tibetan Monastery Here large number of immigrants from Tibetan lived and they produce various kinds of handicrafts that attract the tourist toward it.
• Rohtang Pass is situated at an altitude of 3979 meters abve sea level and 51 km outside Manali. It is the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti valley and opened for about four months a year. The main attraction for the tourist are Rohtangs mountains. Sonapani glacier and Dashohar Lake is also a few km away from the pass.

Best Time to Visit Manali

Though there isn't any specific time that one could define as the best for visiting this charming city, the months when a good number of tourists visit this place are between June and October. As during this time the summer become unbearable in the tropical plains, Manali naturally becomes the ideal getaway. If one wishes to see the snowfall on the high mountain peaks, one has to visit this place during winters i.e. between the months of November and February.
